Studio 5000 L5X and Unity ZEF

ACE Codex Online reads a controller export and turns it into documentation you can hand to a client: racks, hardware BOM with lifecycle colour, spare I/O from real wiring, ladder, and a functional description. Pay per file. Prices include GST.

Files stay in this browser. Not stored in the cloud. ACE Systems does not keep a plant-file copy on the site. Generation and checkout still talk to the server for the session — the export itself is not retained as a plant archive.

What to upload

  • .L5X — Studio 5000 / Logix export. Feeds architecture, BOM, I/O utilisation, ladder, messaging, tags, and the Rockwell FD Generator.
  • .ZEF / .XEF — Control Expert project. Opens in the Unity Code Reader; hardware and Schneider FD use the same load.
  • .XBD / .XHW — Schneider program / hardware exports, sorted automatically with the Rockwell files.

Loaded PLC Files

On the hub, the Loaded PLC Files panel lists every controller from the upload:

  • Name — the controller name from the export.
  • File Name — the source filename (useful when several exports share a controller name).
  • Platform — Rockwell (L5X) or Schneider (XBD / ZEF).
  • Type / Detail — processor type (e.g. 1756-L83E) or, for Schneider, FBD network count.
  • FW — firmware major/minor revision.
  • Source — encryption badge. Fully encrypted routines cannot be scanned for ladder, I/O wiring, or tag usage. The badge is there so an empty search is explained, not treated as a tool fault.

Source protection is Rockwell EncodedData on the routines — not FactoryTalk Security on the export. No scanner can invent mappings that are not in the file.
