How licence tokens work
A token is 30 days from the original payment on the controller name inside the paid L5X (or ZEF / XEF). Redeem copies that same expiry onto another browser — the clock does not restart. It is not a company seat. Use it to open the same paid PLC in another browser or on another PC — no second NZ$19.
If you paid
Copy the token from checkout after Stripe succeeds, from home Your licence token, and from the Stripe invoice email (custom field Licence token). Keep that invoice — it is the copy that survives if this browser forgets.
Second browser or PC
That is the intended recovery. A different browser or PC starts empty — ACE never stored the L5X, so the paid files live only in the browser you paid in (IndexedDB / localforage).
Paste the token, drop the same PLC file (controller name inside the export, size within ±5%), then Redeem. The file shows Included for the days left on that invoice token — the same expiry as the original payment, not a new 30 days. Share on day 29 and the other PC has about 1 day left. That reinitialises the active PLC. That is how you get a second Chrome, Edge, or work laptop without another NZ$19.
A workmate does the same with their copy of the file. Filename can change; the name that must match is the controller name inside the export.
Same path if you cleared cookies or site data for this site: keep the Stripe invoice token, drop the same file, Redeem. No extra NZ$19 if the name and size still match.
Cookies and this browser
ACE Codex Online uses cookies and this-browser storage to remember what was paid and your licence token.
- Allow cookies and site data for online.acesystems.co.nz. If the browser blocks them, the unlock will not stick after you leave the page.
- Do not use Incognito / Private / InPrivate for daily work. That window wipes cookies and site data when it closes. You would have to Redeem every session. Use a normal Chrome or Edge window instead.
- Same wipe if the browser is set to “clear cookies when you close” or “delete browsing data on exit”.
What must match
- 30 days from the original payment, shared across browsers. Redeem does not start a new 30 days.
- Five successful Redeems per paid token (your other browsers, PCs and workmates share that pool).
- Same controller name. File size within ±5% of the paid export. A much larger later export will not match.
- A different controller name is a new NZ$19.
One Stripe checkout issues one token covering the controller names on that payment. The token is minted with that payment’s expiry (pay time + 30 days). After those 30 days, export locks and the local copies in this browser are cleared.
Included files
A paid or Redeemed file shows as Included. The × button cannot remove Included files. If the list looks empty after a refresh, use Restore files in this browser or drop the same export again — no extra charge while the remaining days on the invoice token and the name + size still match.
Note. Controller exports stay in this browser (IndexedDB). ACE Systems does not keep a plant-file copy on the server. Quote and checkout still send file names and counts.
